Job Title : Quality Control/Quality Assurance (QC/QA) Transmission Analyst

Reports to : Project Controls Supervisor

Location : Georgia Power (GPC) Corporate Headquarters- 241 Ralph McGill Blvd. Atlanta, GA

Department : Transmission Project Controls

Travel : Up to 10%

This role is essential in ensuring the quality, accuracy, and compliance of our transmission capital projects schedules. Additionally, this role will cover training team members, maintaining and updating project controls scheduling procedures, and ensuring that templates are current and aligned with the latest standards and regulatory requirements. Furthermore, this individual will implement and maintain quality control and quality assurance processes to ensure project deliverables meet Georgia Power's standards and regulatory requirements. The individual will also be expected to perform additional ad hoc duties as needed to support the overall success of the transmission capital projects.

Job Requirements

Job experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (Engineering, Business, Construction Management, or a related field).

  • Project Management, Engineering or Construction experience preferred.

  • Power Delivery experience preferred.

  • Experience in quality control, quality assurance, or project controls within the transmission or utility industry preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to transmission projects.

  • Proven experience in developing and implementing QC/QA plans and procedures.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma, CQA) are a plus.

Job Responsibilities:

QA/QC

  • Implement QA/QC procedures to ensure that project schedules meet the highest standards of accuracy and reliability.

  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of project schedules to identify discrepancies and areas for improvement.

  • Provide training and support to project team members on scheduling processes, tools, and QA/QC practices.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on scheduling and QA/QC methodologies.

  • Track and monitor project performance against the schedule, identifying any deviations and working with the project team to address them.

Template Upkeep and Changes:

  • Maintain and update templates used by the team to ensure they meet current standards and requirements.

Procedure Processes:

  • Develop, document, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for team processes.

  • Conduct regular reviews of procedures and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Training Duties:

  • Develop and implement training programs for new hires and ongoing training for existing team members.

  • Create and update training materials, manuals, and documentation.

  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments.

  • Conduct regular training sessions and workshops to ensure team members are proficient in their roles.

  • Implement best practices and lessons learned to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of scheduling processes.

Backup Support for Schedule Analysts

  • Provide backup support for Project Managers by covering for schedule analysts during their vacation or absence, ensuring uninterrupted schedule progress and the smooth completion of other critical tasks.

  • Stay abreast of scheduling processes and best practices to ensure seamless support when stepping into the Schedule Analyst role.
