JOB SUMMARY

This position is for facilitating, developing, negotiating, selling and executing energy conservation and energy infrastructure projects in highly competitive markets. This position will work in conjunction with the Marketing Reps in Sales. This position will carry the project from a procedural and technical standpoint through contracting and construction. This position will answer detailed questions of customers related to the actual engineering, construction, and financial approach in developing and constructing the project. This role facilitates audits in the PFA and the IGA phases and selects and works with our engineering and construction allies closely. This role carries the responsibility of scope development, financial solutions, technical specifications, preliminary audits, investment grade audits, contract negotiations, construction management, and performance assurance.This position is for facilitating, developing, negotiating, selling and executing energy related projects in highly competitive markets. This position will also work in conjunction with the Marketing Reps in developing end use sales. This position will facilitate carrying the project from a procedural and technical standpoint through to contracting and construction depending upon the scope of the project. This role facilitates preliminary feasibility audits as well as investment grade audits when required, then selects and works with our engineering and construction allies closely to build the project in the direction required. This role carries the responsibility of scope development, financial assessment, technical specifications, contract negotiations, construction management, and performance assurance when required by the individual project scope.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: Engineering degree from accredited program required, Mechanical Engineering degree preferred. PE License preferred, CEM license preferred.

  • Ideal candidate will have strong sales and engineering experience in the energy field, related mechanical equipment, and general building mechanical systems including HVAC, as well as central chiller and boiler plant(s)

  • Three years of experience in developing engineering energy efficiency and conservation solutions in the areas of HVAC, controls, lighting, water conservation, electrical infrastructure, building envelop improvements, and other technology-based applications within the industrial and large commercial markets as well as specific experience within the municipality, university, schools, and hospital markets.

  • Three years experience preferred in mechanical systems design, equipment selection, as well as application of large HVAC and mechanical systems, process heat, boilers, and indoor lighting systems.

  • Demonstrated experience in project management and adherence to construction timelines and budget management.

  • Demonstrated sales skills in areas of serving the customer, building positive customer relationships as demonstrated with repeat sales, high customer satisfaction with institutional, municipal and educational type customer bases

  • Demonstrated skills in drafting, writing, assembling, and responding to RFQ’s and RFP’s for energy related projects and technology applications. Skills include verbal presentations at various levels of customer management

  • Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills, and ability to multi-task

  • Good written, verbal, and listening communication skills including interface with internal and external customers, contractors and multiple levels of management.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify customer issues, identify solutions, and negotiate positive outcomes in a highly profession manner between all parties on energy related projects

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working with a dynamic sales team environment developing energy conservation projects (energy efficiency/energy conservation) primarily to industrial and commercial customers.

  • Compile, develop, finance, and price projects based on bids from design professionals, contractors, or other external quotes.

  • Act as the primary interface between customer, contractor, and vendor after the sales process during implementation of energy projects.

  • Manage aspects of energy project development, customer contract negotiations, project construction execution and project performance assurance as driven by specific project needs.

  • Comply with all MPC and ES processes and procedures

  • Ensure high quality of work and satisfaction with customer – provide feedback to MPC and vendor.

  • Work with sales team to develop electric end use equipment sales strategies and “energy use of efficiency” related market programs to meet customer’s changing requirements.

  • Develop strong working relationships with architects, engineers, vendors, and other consultants.
